Joshua Pirog
My journey into architecture began at 17 when I worked for my grandfather’s construction company. As I honed my skills in carpentry, my passion for building and design grew. By 19, I was taking on independent projects, blending hands-on experience with my studies in business and accounting.
After receiving a full scholarship for an accelerated master’s program in accounting, I realized my true calling lay elsewhere. I left college in 2018 to pursue a more creative and fulfilling career, working in construction while deepening my love for architecture. Over time, I transitioned from carpentry to design, sketching my ideas and refining my understanding of spatial composition.
In 2021, I took the leap and began studying architecture at NJIT—an experience that has only strengthened my passion for design, construction, and creative problem-solving. I’ve developed strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, which I consider among my greatest strengths in the field.
Expected to graduate in Spring 2026, I plan to pursue licensure and continue shaping the built environment with a fusion of craftsmanship and design expertise.
